Enlightenment

By Chris Carroll-Davis

Rose window, Notre Dame, Paris. I have always been struck by the dedication of the craftsmen and communities that built these beautiful buildings; obviously a labour of love. The extreme detail and delicacy of the glass hundreds of feet up is simply impossible to fully appreciate with the human eye. As with the Nazca lines in Peru, the artists that produced this exquisite work had faith that their work will be appreciated from a higher plane. (Not edited. Effect is an in-camera zoom)
