Saying Grace

By Sue O'Connell

In a Burmese nunnery, a young girl prays before enjoying a meagre meal. She is newcomer, probably an orphan from the war-torn north, with head as yet unshaven, and not yet issued with the distinctive pink habit worn by Burmese nuns. This small community is a welcome refuge which may become her home for life. For now, she just wants to belong and I believe she is praying for that with all her little heart.
