The Plain Cross at Llanddwyn

By Rose Williamson

This cross has stood since the 19th century, a marker of faith on Llanddwyn's tidal island. The saint of the island, Dwynwen is the saint of love, and even those who don't have a strong belief or faith come to island to connect to her story and see the crosses. The plain cross stands near the lighthouse, and the sun rises and sets on it in a way that brings it forward to the eye of those visiting the island, whether it is their first time or their thousandth.
