Hallgrímskirkja

By Joe Stapleton

Often placed highly on the lists of the worlds most beautiful churches, Hallgrímskirkja was designed to mimic the basalt lava flows of Iceland's landscape. As well as being architecturally magnificent, it is extremely popular with locals and tourists alike, and looks as good on the inside as it does on the out. This shot shows the clock tower from the side, a different angel which demonstrates the unique shadow patterns which can appear when the weather is good.
